House – Maison Petosa

The building dates back to 1942 and is located on a beautiful, well-landscaped estate on the banks of the Loutre River, which was rare at that time. The house is of “English Cottage” style and was built by Mr. Angelo Petosa. Its foundation is made of stone, and its exterior walls are constructed with fieldstones and siding.

This almost princely residence gives us a glimpse of what the bourgeoisie of the mid-20th century could build.

The house was inhabited by Mrs. Virginie Dussault, the wife of Mr. Angelo Petosa. She was the first woman from Témiscamingue to publish a novel.
